Print on Flag Material

Flag is a transparent, polyester fabric with a very fine structure. The material has a light and glossy appearance.

The fabric is weather-resistant and can be washed. Due to its open structure, the material has high wind permeability. It can be used outdoors without immediately getting damaged by strong winds.

The material has a maximum print width in one piece of 306 cm. With a weight of 110 grams/m², it is a very lightweight material.

Print Visible on the Back

This material is printed only on one side. Due to the fine and open structure, the print shows through to the back of the material. A whopping 98% of the print appears in mirror image on the back. Your print is clearly visible on both sides.

Most Common Applications

Flag can be used both indoors and outdoors. It has a fire certificate, making it suitable for public spaces. The material is used for banners, beach flags, banner flags, construction fence banners, and facade flags, among other applications.

The inks are not UV-resistant. Over time, colors may fade in outdoor use. However, this process will take longer than the material’s lifespan, so it should not be a problem.

Different Flag Materials

Flag, Flag PET, and Flag Longlife are three materials that closely resemble each other. Flag is the basic variant and offers good quality. Flag PET is almost identical to the basic variant, with the only difference being the material’s sustainability. Flag PET is made entirely from recycled material. Flag Longlife, due to its slightly coarser structure, frays less quickly. As a result, hemming is not necessary, and the delivery time is shorter than other variants.

Finishing Options

The Flag material offers various finishing options. The most common one is a band with hooks, which is used for flagpoles. Often, a tunnel is added at the top of the flag, allowing it to be visible and readable even without strong winds. To extend the material’s lifespan, you can choose to have it hemmed. Although the material frays quickly, hemming prevents this.

Additionally, there are other options for finishing the material, such as adding Velcro, tunnels, bands with D-rings, bands with cords, or bands with rings.

FAQ

What is the expected lifespan of Flag?

When used outdoors, this material lasts about 3-4 months. Do you want your customer to enjoy his flags as long as possible? Then make sure he brings them inside on time, especially with wind forces 6 and up. This way you reduce the chance of damage.

What is the difference between the materials Flag, Flag Longlife and Flag PET?

In general, these three are quite similar. What makes the materials unique? Flag PET is our sustainable version made from 100% recycled PET bottles. Flag Longlife does not fray as easily due to its coarse structure. Hemming is therefore not necessary. Don't care about these unique properties? Then you can go for Flag, our basic flag material with a classic hem all around.

What printing technique is used for this material?

The sublimation printing technique! We first let the inks dry thoroughly and then they are heated at a high temperature of 180 to 200 degrees. This causes the inks to be woven into the fibers of the fabric and the colors come out very beautifully. In addition, the water-based inks are odor-free.
